Eva Solo table grill. I might just as well admit it right from the start. I do tend to like EvaSolo's products. And this new table-top grill is no exception. The grill is 30 cm (about 11.8 in) in diameter, made of porcellain and stainless steel with a wooden stand. Like Eva Solo's bigger grill, it has a special pot inside for the coals and the soot. Beautiful. Available from PID at SEK 1,299:- (about USD 176:-).
Flavor of the month. Today the Absolut company adds a new flavor to the eight previous ones. The new flavor is called Ruby Red, and for this one the boffins in Åhus used red grapefruit, a first if you will take the Absolut guy's word for it. The bottle, as always with Absolut a very important aspect, has been designed by the very talented Swedish design firm Blidholm Vagnemark, who also do work for, among others, Ikea and H&M. To accompany the launch of the new flavor, Absolut commissioned barmen Richard Broni and Johannes Brauer to come up with some new drinks. Here's one of them:
Rubypolitan
1 part Absolut Ruby Red
2 dashes of Cointreau
1 part cranberry juice
3 pressed wedges of lime
Shake everything with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Decorate with zest of red grapefruit.

Beach radio to be planted in the sand. This beach radio could just as easily have been posted in the Smart Department, but it is the design that is the issue here. Radio has been around since the days of Marconi. Anyway, this clever beach radio, dubbed Acapulco yes, really), from German Arco is designed by French Partenaire du Design Pool/Vitrac in Paris, and awarded a Red Dot Award 2005. Now tell us that the Jerries and the Frogs do no get along. Red Dot Award.
Hot heaters. It is called Karotherm and it made by Swiss firm Arbonia (on their site, look for the link "Karotherm"). It was designed by Helmuth Amann, and we think it is a real looker. We would seriously think of getting these for our home, if we were to renovate. Maybe it is because we also like the boat floors (we are sure there is a proper word for them, but hey, we are all landlubbers here), and tables using the same square grid. Probably a professional shrink would have one or two things to say about this, but above all we have never seen any heaters that look this attractive before. Available in several different colors, and also awarded with the Red Dot Award 2005
