Europeans like it bright, too.
The most densely populated areas of Europe are Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg and a bit of northern France. As for the rest it's obvious that Europeans prefer to live along the coasts. Look at Italy, the south of France and Spain. Moscow seems to be centered in its own spider-web of what is probably towns and villages along the major roads. Israel, which is not actually in Europe, but has a cultural bond, is a bright spot in a Middle East that is mostly dimly lit. Iceland has one bright spot; Reykjavik, where most of the population resides.
